Eastbourne Primary School Rosebud

Eastbourne Primary School exists to support the students and families of our community to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives. We do this by enhancing learning and development, through strengthening families and assisting people to gain the skills and knowledge they need to thrive and participate in a complex and challenging economy and society.

Eastbourne Primary School provides a high quality, engaging education, promoting opportunities for success and developing positive values within a safe, secure, supportive and caring community environment for our students.

The core purpose of the school is to teach students to become successful learners, who are confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens. We enhance learning to enable students to make greater than 12 months progress in 12 months.

Set in an attractive semi-rural environment, the spacious grounds contain passive and active play areas complete with an oval, a basketball and netball court, an Amphitheatre and an Indigenous Garden. The twenty-one classrooms are in both permanent and relocatable buildings. Over the past number of years considerable work has been done to upgrade and improve the general appearance and facilities of the school. The school’s contemporary buildings include twenty-one air-conditioned classrooms, fully computerised library, multi-purpose room and a state of the art Information Technology Centre and an extremely modern recreational centre.  The Primary School boasts both a play pod and a bush pod, play equipment, running track natural studies area and a community garden with attached indoor/outdoor kitchen, which enables the students to grow and then cook the food that they have produced.

The well-maintained grounds include three large modern adventure playgrounds, assembly amphitheatre, sandpits, oval, basketball and netball courts, frog and duck pond and a number of shaded outdoor areas.

The School Council, Principal and members of staff work together for the continuous improvement of students. This commitment is acknowledged and appreciated by parents of students attending the school.

Eastbourne prides itself on fostering self-esteem, self-discipline and co-operation, along with respect and care for others and care for the environment.  We offer quality learning experiences that will increase students’ knowledge, understanding, appreciation and skills.  Our school encourages parental involvement in the day to day running of programs, enhancing and recognising the importance of the partnership between home and school.  The School Council and its subcommittees along with the Parents’ and Friends’ Association, work harmoniously with staff to continually improve the quality of education.  Eastbourne Primary School recognises the importance of and encourages community involvement.

The school’s aim to encourage students to reach their potential is reflected in the school motto; “Celebrates Success.”

Through strategies such as its Student Wellbeing Officer, School Chaplain, Wellbeing  Management, ‘You Can Do It’ Program, “Bully Busting” Program, Student Representative Council, House System and co-operative, personalised learning, our school reinforces the important elements of pride, courtesy and respect while preparing the individual to meet the challenges ahead.

The school offers a comprehensive range of curriculum choices and prides itself in aiming for excellence.  We are very proud of our record in offering the highest quality education.  Our Primary School boasts a rich diversity of talented and caring teachers.  High quality delivery occurs in all curriculum areas with the highest priority given to Numeracy, Literacy, Information Technology, Specialist Programs and Student Well Being.
