Principal’s Message

Year 3, 4, 5, 6
Our year 3 – 6 students were lucky enough to have a visit from 2 accomplished authors last week, Meredith Costain and Paul Collins. The authors helped our students with a workshop on writing imaginative texts, and students produced some amazing writing. The authors commented positively on our students’ behaviour and effort (well done!). A huge thankyou to McCrae and District Lions Club for sponsoring this event, and providing our students with these workshops free of charge.
Eastbourne Primary School is pleased to announce our latest addition to our amazing playground: a Ga-ga Pit!
Ga-ga (literally 'touch-touch' in Hebrew) is a variant of dodge ball that is played with one ball. The game combines dodging, striking, running, and jumping, with the object of being the last person standing. Players hit the ball at each other with their hands, and are eliminated if the ball strikes them on or below the knee. The game can be played by a group of individual players or with teams, as well as in one-on-one matches.
Our Ga-ga Pit is the latest in a number of recent additions to our playground that helps ensure our students are happy and safe during outside play times. Other recent additions include:
Coupled with our regular lunchtime activities, HangOut room, full size football oval and soccer pitch, jogging track, Bush Pod and Play Pod (and with an amazing 7 adults on yard care at all times), Eastbourne Primary School boasts facilities that enable children to feel happy and safe at school.
